First, make sure your vehicle is turned off and on flat ground. Our priority is that our nearby customers are safe when checking the status of their Ford! After that, you’ll raise the hood.
Once the hood is open and securely raised above you, locate your dipstick. Usually it’ll be a colored handle you can hook your finger on and pull out. There should also be an oil symbol on or near it for easier location.
Pull the dipstick out and wipe off any oil you see on the end. After this, you’ll notice a couple of indicators. These will tell you whether you need to add more or if you are good to go. Once you find those indicators, place the dipstick back into its tube and slowly push all the way down.
Finally, you’ll take the dipstick out again and look at the indicators. If the oil level is between the two indicators on the dipstick, you are good! If it is below, it’s time for an oil change.
